The Chick Chat Agenda
1. Introduction of Guests & Members: All in attendance will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses to the group and the speaker. This is a great way to 'break the ice' to initiate an evening of successful networking.
2. Speakers of the Month: Kerri Hensley, Director of Berea Tourism and Lori Tatum-Murphy, Director of Richmond Tourism
Madison County Tourism & Small Business
About the Presentation: As our members' businesses are both in Berea and Richmond, we will hear from Berea and Richmond's Tourism Directors who will each present the years' schedule of events, how small business can engage with local tourism efforts to increase their business, and how we can get involved to make tourism more successful in our county.
A recent article about tourism's affect on small business:"The tourism dollar can deeply permeate a local economy. Because tourism is a labour-intensive industry, and because most of the participants are micro to small business operators, the effect is felt quickly and directly through local spending. For those communities that do have the potential to become a successful tourism destination, and are willing to commit to its ongoing development, the benefits are more than just economic."
